The athletes took to the track on Saturday to continue with the 2019 outdoor season at the University of Manitoba. It was a meet of progress for athletes of Prairie Storm Athletics as athletes set seasons bests, personal bests and showed all around improvement in performances from the Spring Open. Gusty wind made for some wind aided times but nevertheless athletes performed well and showed significant progress from earlier this spring.
Strong performances across all events were highlighted with Ben Perrett, who blew up his 400m personal best time with a new blazing fast time of 49.57 seconds, crushing his old mark of 50.02 seconds! Daxx Turner added 10cm to his high jump personal best with whopping new 1.90m top jump, while Trynity Turner went over 10m in triple jump for the first time! Taine Middleton doubled up on the track with a quick 11.18 second 100m and 22.84 second 200m (2.0) personal best. On the women’s side Peighton Johnson blew open the door on her 100m and 200m best times with times of 12.51 seconds and 25.72 seconds while teammate Daniele Dyck went 12.15 and 25.36 seconds. Jorja Hoad and Kensi Rainkie both had fast days in the 100m and 200m as well! Raegan Ricard ran a very solid 800m, after running a fast 300m; she finished ahead of teammates Kailey Klippenstein and Rayna Shepherd, who set a new personal best in the 1200m.
